Welcome to the Children's Ministry...
As a ministry, we have the same mission statement as the church, to
"Find out who Jesus really is and become just like Him."
For kids we say it this way...we want kids to LOVE IT, LEARN IT, LIVE IT! Or...we want kids to LOVE coming to church, where they will LEARN who Jesus really is, so they can LIVE like He lived.
How do we know if kids are loving, learning and living it?
Simple...
We know they are Loving It if they are begging their parents to bring them, if they come consistently and if they bring their friends.
We use four statements in each part of our ministry to make sure our kids are Learning It.
In Kingdom Kids we want kids to know...
- God made me
- God loves me
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever
- The Bible is true
In the Zone (K-3rd) and Zone 456 (4th-6th) we want kids to know...
- I need to make the wise choice
- I can trust God no matter what
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated
- I can apply God's Word to my life today
These truths are taught each week through the creative telling of many familiar Bible stories.
And finally...How do we know they are Living It? Here we use the 6 G's as our guide. These 6 G's are...
- Grace
- Growth
- Group
- Gifts
- Generosity
- Going
If kids are doing these 6 things (in an age appropriate manner) then they are living a life pleasing to God.
So there you have it! These simple statements will be a guide over the next few months and years as we seek to serve your families and the families of our community in the Children's Ministry here at Hillside.
