Serve in the Children's Ministry...
Hillside Children's Ministry loves their volunteers and our volunteers love Hillside’s Kids! Each weekend we serve an average of 300 or more kids! This huge task would not be possible without the 100 or so volunteers that make it all happen.
There are many ways to get involved serving God by serving our kids. From on-stage teaching to the tech team, from leading a small group of 4th grade boys to rocking babies, we have a place for any gifting, temperament and schedule. You can serve on the weekend or even during the week, helping us prepare for our weekend ministry.
Our ministry operates on a three semester system for our volunteers. These semesters are…
Spring - 2/2/08 to 6/1/08
Summer - 5/31/08 to 8/31/08
Fall/Winter - 9/08 to 1/09
Our desire is that anyone who considers themself to be a committed volunteer in our children’s ministry would serve 2 out of 3 of these semesters. That way everyone gets a break each year so they can be refreshed and ready to maintain the high quality programming we offer each week. If you can’t commit to 2 semesters but would still like to help serve, the summer is a great time to give many of our regulars a break.
Because we want both our kids and volunteers to have the best experience possible each weekend, we begin each semester with a mandatory training and encouragement session. This session provides you with the necessary information to make your service a pleasurable time spent serving our Lord and seeing our Hillside kids grow in God's truths.

All of our volunteers undergo an application process, which includes a background check. This helps ensure everyone’s safety while in our ministry.
You can start serving in our ministry in one of three ways…
- Attend a Discovering Hillside class.
- Contact our volunteer placement director, Suzanne Parkhill at sparkhill@yourhillside.com.
- If we are getting close to the start of a new semester you will have a chance to sign up to serve during the worship service.
But don’t wait for the start of a new semester. We are always looking for new people to serve with our kids. Just like our kids, we hope you will LOVE IT, LEARN IT, and LIVE IT!
