HSM Parenting Milestones

The teenage years can be some of the most difficult and challenging times of life, but the only thing that I can think of that can be considered just as difficult is being the parent of a teen. During this phase, both teen and parent encounter terrain that can be very difficult to navigate through. Along this path you will both encounter critical learning points, which at Hillside we label “milestones.” A milestone is a significant stage or event in a person’s life where choices can have a lifetime impact. The result of these choices can be beneficial or detrimental to your student and how we as parents handle these times with our students are crucial. Hillside student ministries has identified some of these points and is now able to offer through “Milestones” some direction to parents as well as teens as you journey together through these years.

More Than The Birds and Bees – For Parents Of Junior High Students

What do I say? When do I say it? How should I say it? Having “the talk” can make a parent feel very overwhelmed. That being said, it can be very overwhelming for a teenager as well. At HSM we do not claim to have all the answers. What we would like to do is team up with parents and help leverage them when it comes to this milestone. This milestone gives us the opportunity to arm you with some thoughts, ideas, and direction that you can use to make a positive impact in your teen’s sexual choices.

Senior High Grad Night – For Senior High Students And Their Parents

Senior graduation night is the peak of our ministry years with the student. This is the milestone where the student receives a final commissioning to live out the vision of Hillside Student Ministry. That vision is “to unleash authentically changed students armed with biblical values and a character that reflects that of Jesus Christ.”
