San Antonio Mission Trips
Hillside Student Ministries is passionate about our focused relationship with our sister churches, Young Vision and Agora in San Antonio. Four times a year we have the opportunity to visit these ministries and participate in events such as feeding the homeless, holding “free” garage sales, inviting the community to church, hosting Vacation Bible School for the neighborhood kids and blessing our friends with outreach items such as Easter eggs and Christmas shoeboxes. Two of our main mission trips include the spring and summer events.
San Antonio Summer Mission Trip
One of the most impactful trips we participate in is our Summer Mission Trip. This trip encompasses an entire week that includes hosting Vacation Bible School for the kids at both the Young Vision and Agora locations. Our students have the opportunity to journey out into the projects, pick up the neighborhood kids and share Jesus’ light as they teach them about Jesus during VBS. Each participant has the opportunity to work in the community by being involved in selected construction projects. The opportunities to share Jesus are exhibited in ways such as feeding the homeless that reside under the bridge. The intensity of this trip necessitates that all attendees satisfy certain requirements. The students must have completed 7th grade, entering 8th grade to participate on a summer mission trip. Training is required to allow for maximum effectiveness and safety.

San Antonio Fall Fest Mission Trip
Partnering with our sister church, Young Vision in San Antonio, thousands of pieces of candy will be collected to provide a community event like no other.
Students will set up and host carnival game booths, food booths and other fun activities designed to connect with the many residents of this community. This event is an exciting way for the Student Ministry to partner with our church body to collect non-melting candy for this event. Each student has the opportunity to share Christ-like love and the good news of Jesus with families in this community as they learn to serve from the example Jesus has set for us.
San Antonio Christmas Mission Trip
Our entire Hillside Community partners together with Young Vision and Agora to purchase new toys and special needed items that will be wrapped to bring smiles of joy to those in their community that would be unable to experience the excitement of opening a Christmas package. By providing a gift, you also provide the opportunity for families in these communities to hear the message of Jesus and His amazing Gift to everyone.
San Antonio Easter Eggstravaganza Mission Trip
In partnership with our sister churches in San Antonio, thousands of Easter eggs are collected and transported to San Antonio for a huge community outreach event. This event is an exciting way for the Student Ministry to partner with our Children’s Ministry and church body as each group works to collect eggs filled with non-melting candy. Hillside students travel to San Antonio to serve the community through an amazing outreach program designed to share the good news about Jesus through music, food, fun and of course, the Big Hunt.
Hillside Student Ministry provides the opportunity for students to live out the transformation that is occurring in their lives through service. We appreciate your prayerful consideration to contribute to HSM scholarship fund that assists students and leaders the opportunity to travel to San Antonio to magnify the Lord as they change communities through Vacation Bible School and various construction projects.
