Aligned, Week Two
Discussion & Practice
- Read Mark 3:7-12. What was wrong with the crowd's approach to Jesus? How can we fall into the same mindset of seeking a Solution rather than a Savior?
- Read Mark 3:20-35. What were the two accusations made against Jesus by his family and the Scribes?
- The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was a willful, consistent, and final hardening of their hearts towards Jesus. They were witnessing the power of the Holy Spirit right in front of them and called ultimate goodness wicked. How does this passage warn us about hardening our hearts towards the work of God in our lives?
- In Mark 3:31-35, Jesus redefines who his true family is, and it's not those who are most familiar with him. What does this teach us about who truly belongs to the kingdom of God?
- Judas was in Jesus’ inner circle, but his heart wasn’t fully surrendered. What does this teach us about the dangers of being near Jesus but not fully aligned with Him?
- Jesus calls His disciples to be "with" him and be "sent" out (Mark 3:14). How balanced is your spiritual life between intimacy with Jesus and active mission? Can you have one without the other?
- What is one area in your life where Jesus is calling you to surrender more fully? What step can you take this week to align under His authority?
