Who Do You Think You Are?
Discussion & Practice
- Read James 4:11-12. What convicted you most from this passage and the sermon today?
- Why does James link speaking against others to judging the law?
- What are some ways we try to justify speaking negatively against others?
- When does healthy accountability in community cross over into a judgmental attitude? How do you discern the difference between what builds up and what tears down? And what are some healthy boundaries to keep from letting it cross the line?
- How does the gospel shape how we speak about others, especially those who have wronged us?
Prayer + Practice:
Ask God to reveal where you need a change of heart toward someone in your life. Ask him to search you and cut through the justifications and show where you need to hold your tongue.
