Jesus and the Scriptures
Notes
- What stood out to you most about today's message? Were there any questions that were thought of that you wanted to discuss more?
- Read John 5:39–40 and Luke 24:25–27. Jesus claimed that all Scripture points to Him. How does that change the way you read the Bible and trust what it says?
- Read Hebrews 1:1–3. If Jesus is the “exact representation” of God’s nature, how does His life and teaching clarify confusing or difficult parts of Scripture?
- Walter Wink said, “If Jesus had never lived, we’d never have been able to invent Him.” What aspects of Jesus’ life and teachings feel too extraordinary or counter-cultural to have been made up? How does that strengthen your trust in the Gospels personally?
- Pastor Pete talks about the fact that our confidence in scripture ultimately grows as we encounter Christ on a personal level. What experiences have you encountered following Jesus that has deepened your trust in the Bible?
