Ready to be Blessed, Revelation 1:1-4a
Notes
- Read Revelation 1:1-6. John calls himself a witness in verse 2. How is bearing witness different from merely sharing opinions or theories?
- Pastor Pete said that getting to the end is more important than predicting it. How does that impact our approach to reading Revelation? In other words, what does it look like to prepare for the end rather than merely to speculate about it?
- The word “soon” appears in verse 1. How does understanding “soon” in God’s prophetic timeline change how we read the book?
- We see in verse 4 that John writes to real churches in real places. What does that tell us about how practical and personal this book is meant to be?
- What does it look like to conquer in Revelation (12:11)?
- Pete said that John is not only foretelling but also forth-telling in the sense of warning against compromise. What warning or encouragement do you need to take away today as you look to endure to the end?
